The files test.rgb and test.ps were created using the file/print option on the render window in Explorer. The file test.ps will display alright in ghostscript, but it has traits which make it unusable for me, i.e., the black background of the original is not included. test.rgb is unreadable in Firefox, in gimp, and everything else I've tried. On the SGI platform, I created rgb images using render/file/print and this worked well, so I think its worth trying to get this to work on linux. The error messages below are written to the standard output by the Render module, and perhaps they affect the rgb output from Render: Render: Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0". usema:opensem: Invalid argument but note that these messages appear regardless of whether I do file/print. gimp cannot display test.rgb giving an "Open Failed" error in a little pop-up window, so perhaps the rgb file is not being corrected created by Explorer.
