RDI narrowband 153kHz ADCP

PMEL narrowband ADCPs are set to collect data with nominal 8m bin widths at
a 3 second sample rate for 15 minutes (300 pings) once per hour. Each hourly
ensemble records 44 depth bins of data.
At each depth bin the data
recorded include zonal, meridional, vertical and
error velocity, the echo intensity for each of the four beams, and the percent
good for 3 beam solutions and the percent good for 3 and 4 beam solutions.
Velocity Corrections:
When the ADCP converts the
frequency shift to velocity it assumes a sound speed at the transducer of 1536
m/s. The actual sound speed at the transducer can be computed from the
pressure, temperature and salinity data measured at the transducer by the microcat or the seacat.
corrected
velocity = uncorrected velocity * C / 1536m/s
where C is the actual sound speed at the transducer.
The horizontal velocity
components are rotated as needed according to the compass
calibrations.
