The data were digitized from analog tide records by Vandorn and his students. October 4, 1994, Shikotan (Kuril Is. ) Tsunami There are four ASCII time series files for the October 1994 event: honolulu_oct_94.obs kahului_oct_94.obs nawiliwili_oct_94.obs port_allen_oct_94.obs Each file has a one-line header containing the the number of data points and the station name. There are two days of data in each file. The water level data (high-pass filtered to remove the tides) are in centimeters beginning at the time are the earthquake (1323 UTC 4 Oct 1994). The sampling interval is 15 sec, except for Kahului where the sampling is one minute. September 25, 2003 There are five ASCII time series files for the September 2003 event: hilo_sep_03.obs honolulu_sep_03.obs kahului_sep_03.obs kawaihae_sep_03.obs nawiliwili_sep_03.obs Each file has a one-line header containing the the number of data points and the station name. There are 30 hrs of data in each file. The water level data (high-pass filtered to remove the tides) are in meters. The data is in two columns. The first is time (in hours since the earthquake 1950 UTC Sep 2003) and the second is the water levels. The sampling interval for all the series is one minute.
